Corroboree Billabong
Northern Territory, Australia is best known for the wetlands and its wildlife. Kakadu National Parks is the most welknown one. But this this time, I had a chance to visit the Corroboree Billabong thanks to Darwin Photowalk group who organised it. Otherwise, I would’ve never known it exist. Its located about 1.5 hour drive from Darwin city toward Kakadu and just past the Corroboree Tavern on the left side of the road. There is about 8 km of unsealed road so make sure you have a car suitable for the condition. It was raining when I passed this road and I lost bit of control trough the wet and slippery road, lucky there was no traffic from the opposite direction. Couldve been uglyv
. But if you dont wish to drive through this road, there’s a shuttle service you can get from the WetlandCruises.com.au from the tavern. This Billabong is popular for fishing and wildlife photography as it is a home to many Territory’s birds, wallabies, dingoes, wild pig and crocodiles.
It is the beginning of the rainy season in the Territory so the clouds and lightning was amazing. Just felt like stopping on the land and stick my tripod and capture the lightning instead of the wild life, but its impossible because crocodiles are everywhere. So it was a little bit too dark and not so good for my limited tele lens
. So I kinda gave up after few shots with my tele lens and changed to wide 10-20mm.
Driving home at about 7pm from the bong to Darwin was another entertainment with straight fast 100km/hr limit road and lightning surround sound.
Here are some of my shots during the tour:

In the Northern Territory, its not the celebrities or politician that attract paparazzies, its the crocs…
