After living in Darwin for over 13 years, this year I decided to get a kayak and jumping in to the notorious Darwin water that most people are avoiding because of the crocodile and box jelly fish.

Every year, the Barunga community holds a sport and cultural festival and open for the public. The sports festival includes basketball, Australian Football League championship with other Indigenous communities in the Northern Territory. The festival also has some traditional activity shows such as didgeridoo making workshop, bush tucker cooking, spearfishing, and many more Aboriginal culture-related events.
I’m lucky to live just walking distance from such a beautiful Nightcliff foreshore but have to admit that I dont go there quite often than I should. Its the best spot in Darwin for...
